Agenda

1. Welcome, apologies, and matters arising from the previous meeting
2. New PHP London matters:
   1. venue;
   2. date of regular monthly meetings;
   3. job advert charges;
   4. interaction with other London user groups.
3. PHP UK Conference matters:
   1. agree prices
   2. agree talk formats
   3. discuss video proposal
   4. update on venue and details
   5. conf website update

Minutes

General

• PM and MR were disappointed that no-one else showed up.

Date and venue of monthly meetings

• MR reported PHP London members had expressed a preference for the Theodore Bullfrog and then The Antelope in a spot survey at the most recent meeting.
• MR reported RG had collected feedback suggesting the majority of members would prefer to keep the current first Thursday of the month arrangement.

Job adverts

• Some recruiters have refused to pay for postings on the web site or complained of unproductive responses. This will be discussed again at the next meeting.

Constitution

• MR provided PM with the draft constitution he distributed at the previous meeting.
• PM would like to see a time limit on exec positions.
• PM expressed a desire for clearer membership rules including required registration so there is a complete list on the web site and more of a community feel.

Interaction with other user groups

• Andy Armstrong and David from the Perl Mongers have suggested more interaction with PHP London including a shared calendar.
• Other possibilities include a shared announcement list, joint activities, and shared social meetings.
• MR to attend a London PM meeting and see what interaction can be arranged.

Conference update

• There will be a special PHP London meeting on February 28th 2008. MR to book a venue for the speaker's dinner at 6pm on February 28th 2008.
• MR agreed PM's cost estimates for the conference looked good. There will be a charge of £100 per ticket. PM to post details of his cost estimates and ticket charge to the exec mailing list.
• It was agreed providing video would be expensive and we will do MP3 recordings instead this year.
• PM showed a proposed schedule for talks which looked well organised.
• AL to provide Inmarsat with the necessary details for a credit check to avoid having to pay a deposit.
• PM to put up a conference web site without waiting for the production of a PHP London logo.
