January 2012, After a couple of months off, I'm now looking for a Back-end oriented PHP Contract in London.

In February 2011, he started at http://www.PeerIndex.net - a big data platform that ingests, processes and analyses millions of user profiles, social action data and other URLs to produce easy to understand ratings information about people, their social impact in the communities they are a member of.

Previously he helped to scale the systems at http://Binweevils.com - a flash-based game for 7-13yr old children - to over 20 million API hits per day, from a base of around 3million/day, while the game was being advertised on multiple TV channels - occasionally at the same time!

  • Mongo
  • RCS (SVN & Git, but I started with CVS...)
  • Linux & sysadmin (including Chef & Puppet)
  • All the other skills that a senior developer, that has run a major (£1+M turnover/year) website requires when it's just me....
  • Scaling websites to literally millions of hits per day - that's really fun. I'd like to do a lot more like it.
