Matt - I've just added the ConfirmEdit MediaWiki extension, which will hopefully be enough to stop the spam we've been getting this year. I've left it on the default configuration for now, so users in the SysOps group are automatically approved, but everyone else has to use a simple arithmetic captcha. If that doesn't work, I could add FancyCaptcha

I was leaving messages for Dave Nattriss about wiki spam, but maybe you (as the other wiki sysop) have some thoughts on that
